Orthotics are custom made devices that are worn in shoes.
They are used to correct problems in the biomechanics of the feet.
They realign and support the foot to ensure that it is functioning properly.
Problems associated with faulty biomechanics can put increased stress on muscles and joints higher up in the body. This can lead to repetitive strain and overuse type injuries.
Plantarfascitis, Achilles Tendonitis, Patella Tendonitis, Shin Splints and LBP are examples of this.
Adrian will perform a full Biomechanical assessment and advise you on the best type of device for you. There is a range of devices from stock off the shelf devices to custom devices that require taking a plaster cast mould of your foot.
These devises are then made up in a lab in Cork. The cost of orthotics will depend on the type of device needed.
